I called the attention of the Ministers to the
serious consequence
which would result
from these repeated
attempts at interference with

of Canton had in the present instance given

fresh proof of his unfriendly attitude towards the Hongkong Govt.,
seeing that although H.M.
Consul had demanded on the 13th of Oct. he did not
